The National Forest Foundation (NFF) is the leading non-governmental organization dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of America’s national forests. Their goal is to rally the American people in support of the National Forest System’s 193 million-acre preservation, stewardship, and restoration efforts.
As a result of their efforts, the health, resilience, and sustainability of our national forest system are improving. The NFF’s top priority is to protect and restore the forests, rivers, and grasslands of the National Forest System, and they have a nationwide network of allies to help them. They provide grants and technical assistance to local partners, forest managers, and volunteers in order to improve the health of our national forests and grasslands. They also organize a number of volunteer projects and educational programs to engage Americans in the protection and stewardship of the National Forest System.
Just In Time Tree Care is proud to support the National Forest Foundation’s efforts to protect and enhance our national forests. We support their reforestation efforts and have joined their Sapling Program. We recognize the importance of reforestation for our environment and are proud to contribute by donating trees to replace those we have cut down. We are excited to be collaborating with the NFF to ensure that our forests remain healthy and vibrant for future generations!
Every year, more and more of our National Forests are affected by natural disturbances that cause deforestation. Throughout much of our forests, wildfire, insects and disease – exacerbated by climate change – are jeopardizing the very things that make our forests special. In the Southeast, restoring and expanding native ecosystems is a priority. Planting trees helps restore these public lands, ensuring that our forests can continue to provide wildlife habitat, supply water to millions of people, and help fight climate change. The National Forest Foundation (NFF) works with the USDA Forest Service to select planting sites on our 193-million-acre National Forest System where the ecological need is greatest. We plant in all regions, responding to where trees are needed most. Please visit our planting map for examples of projects and our priority regions map for more on where and why we plant trees.
Visit our campaign progress page to see how many trees the 50 Million campaign has already planted. Prior to the launch of the campaign in 2018, the NFF planted more than 9.5 million trees on National Forests across the country. We’re excited to keep planting trees and scaling up our reforestation efforts!
